The H9 is designed to aid the shooter with its patented configuration. There are three elements to the design that achieve this: the low bore axis, the 1911-style straight pull trigger, and the placement of the recoil spring. These key features create a pistol that does not require an off-axis firing technique and achieves a flatter shooting platform.

  1. The low bore axis is achieved by using a striker-fired system and placing the barrel camming surfaces forward of the trigger guard. The low bore axis minimizes the distance between your hand and the reciprocating mass of the slide, which reduces the torque experienced by the wrist as the slide moves rearward. Reduced torque allows better control of the pistol.
  2. The linear 1911-style trigger minimizes disruptive movement introduced by the trigger finger during the firing sequence. By confining the motion of the trigger to a single forward and rearward axis, the shooter maintains greater control of their sight picture during the shot process.
  3. The lowered placement of the recoil spring in front of the trigger guard further reduces torque on the wrist. When fired, the H9’s slide bottoms out on the recoil spring at a position below the plane of the shooter’s wrist, resulting in improved control of the pistol.

The H9 combines these features that work to the shooter’s advantage and enables them to reacquire their target and make faster follow up shots.

Although the H9 offers familiar features, like a 1911-style trigger and a striker-fired mechanism, the H9 is a new advancement in firearm design that boasts several patents granted with even more pending. We engineered the H9 with an original barrel camming system, sear design, and other unique features. The familiarity of the design is a result of isolating the proven features that work in other designs and including them with the new technology in the H9.

The H9 is currently shipping to our distributors.

We are proudly partnered with: AcuSport, Bill Hicks & Co., Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, RSR Group, Sports South, Williams Shooters Supply, and Zanders Sporting Goods.

Yes. Currently, we are only shipping 15-rd magazines with the H9, but 10-rd magazines will be available as soon as possible.

Yes. The H9 is a new advancement in firearm design, and its exceptionally low bore axis would not work with existing magazines designs. We ship each H9 with three magazines, and additional magazines will be available soon in our e-commerce store for $34.99.

A discount program for certain qualified individuals is in the works.

Yes. Like most full-size pistols, many commercially available lights will mount successfully to the H9. Although the control switch will be lower than with a traditionally profiled pistol, the controls will be positioned similarly to the ALG 6-Second Mount or the MK23 LAM that have been used effectively as a primary weapon system by professionals in the military and law enforcement. Additionally, we are looking forward to supporting the aftermarket to bring design-specific solutions for H9 owners.

Hudson Mfg is not offering pre-orders; however, individual dealers may elect to do so. Check with your local dealer if you are interested in such offerings, or subscribe to our mailing list to receive updates and information on future products and offers.

Company

Hudson Mfg was born from an unwillingness to settle and a desire to deliver only the highest quality products. As firearms enthusiasts, we understand the high expectations of shooters and what they demand from a pistol. Hudson is and will always be committed to creating products that are practical in their approach, aesthetically appealing, and engineered to advance.

While our reveal of the H9 was sudden and unexpected within the industry, our work up to that point had been deliberate and well researched. Hudson truly believes in this industry, in our work and in our products. We are looking forward to the opportunity to show the world why we believe we can “Keep Advancing.”

Hudson is the last name of Cy and Lauren Hudson who are the co-inventors of the H9, co-owners of Hudson Mfg, and the CEO and COO of the company, respectively.

Cy and Lauren Hudson formed Hudson Mfg LLC in 2014 after creating the first prototype of what would evolve into the H9.

Two reasons:

  • To support our industry: historically, the firearms industry has benefited from distributors and dealers forming strong business relationships, and we want to see the industry continue to succeed.
  • To pass savings on to you: we would need to invest in additional shipping infrastructure to ship directly to individuals, and as a new company, we want to focus on manufacturing.
